I
If a mountain split in two
Down its middle
And no tunnels left
You would get the shape
Of a human being
That is the only difference keeping
a mountain a mountain
and this human something else
Two peaks
cannot be met
Up and down
one side at a time
The road between
over-shadowed in awe.
II
If a pyramid divided in two
Across its middle
And no lift left
You would get the shape
Of a human being
This is the only difference keeping
a pyramid a pyramid
and this human something else
Two volumes
cannot be compared
Side by side surfaces
told two faces at a time
The spacing not these
some thing never more.
III
If a tree parted in two
Severed whence it branches
And no articulation left
You would get the shape
Of a human being
This is the only difference keeping
a tree a tree
and this human something else
Two images
cannot be returned
One dies
the other does it again
Sprouting its vision roots
like never before.
